Roof quotes, without the ladder.
Stand in the yard. Point your camera up. Our AI assesses tile condition, identifies broken or slipped tiles, reads ridge cap state and gutter condition — then a licensed roofer signs off the quote within the hour. No ladders, no waiting for a quote.
How roof quoting actually works
Camera on. Walk through. Talk through what you want. A licensed Australian tradie signs off in under an hour.
Roofing is the single most-quoted job after a storm, and the one most prone to scam — door-knockers offering 'free inspections' after hail are an Australian problem in every state. Quotefor.au exists in part to give homeowners a trustworthy second opinion without a stranger on the roof.
Our AI vision model has been trained on more than 12,000 Australian roofs across terracotta tile, concrete tile, Colorbond and zincalume. We can identify broken tiles, slipped ridge caps, failed pointing, rust on metal sheets, and gutter sag — all from a ground-level walkthrough. For pitched roofs we use a known reference (ridge height, eave depth) to estimate square meterage to within 5%.
Repairs that look like 'just a couple of tiles' often aren't. Re-pointing the ridge caps usually goes hand-in-hand. Re-bedding follows. We're honest about which is which: small repair, full restoration, or replacement. Every quote is reviewed by a licensed roofer before it's sent.
What our vision model scans for
Trained on more than 26,000 Australian residential jobs across every state and climate zone.
Tile or sheet condition
The AI flags broken, slipped, or weathered tiles and identifies rust patches on metal sheets — all from a ground-level walkaround.
Ridge cap and pointing
We check the mortar line at every visible ridge for cracking, gaps, and biological growth — common signs that re-pointing is overdue.
Gutter sag & overflow signs
We look for staining on fascia, bowing in the gutter line, and visible debris — all indicators of gutter capacity or attachment failure.
Symptoms inside
Tell us where the leak shows up internally. 'Bedroom ceiling, west side, after westerly rain.' The AI cross-references this against the roof zone to focus the inspection.
Every roof quote, itemised.
Indicative line items. The AI scopes which apply to your specific job — and the licensed tradie signs off the final pricing.
Three common roof price brackets.

Roof quotes, answered.
Things homeowners ask before they book. If yours isn't here, the AI will answer during your walkthrough.
Can you really quote a roof without going up?
For 80% of repair and restoration jobs, yes. Our AI assesses tile condition, ridge cap state, gutter health, and any visible flashing failure from a ground-level walkaround. For full re-roofs or insurance claims we send a roofer up for a 20-minute physical inspection — at no extra cost — to verify the AI's assessment.
What's the difference between repair, restoration and re-roof?
Repair: fix a leak, replace 5–20 broken tiles, $280–$1,800. Restoration: pressure clean, full ridge re-bed and point, replace tiles, optional re-spray, $3,800–$12,000 — adds 10–15 years of roof life. Re-roof: strip the whole lot off and replace, $14,000–$36,000+ — usually only worth it if your roof is past 50 years or the structure is compromised.
How long does roof work take?
Repairs: same day or next day. Restorations: 5–10 days depending on weather. Full re-roofs: 2–4 weeks, weather dependent. We don't strip a roof if the BOM forecast has rain within 48 hours — we'll re-book.
Will insurance pay?
If the damage is from a covered event (storm, hail, fallen tree), almost certainly. Our quotes include an insurance-ready written report with timestamped photos at no extra cost. We can submit directly to your insurer if you provide a claim number.
Is tile or metal better for an Australian roof?
Both work. Tile is heavier (needs stronger framing), better acoustically, and has lower thermal mass. Colorbond is lighter, faster to install, has a 36-colour palette, and is easier to repair locally. For most retrofits we recommend Colorbond — it's cheaper to maintain over 30 years and resells better.
Do you handle asbestos roofs?
Yes, but as a separate quoted line. Asbestos roof removal requires a licensed asbestos removalist (Class B in most states) and the cost is $40–$80 per m² on top of the new roof spend. Our AI flags suspected asbestos visually and we always recommend a $280 hygienist test before scheduling work.
