Carport quotes, from the driveway.
Walk the driveway with your phone. Tell us how wide, how tall, what roof. Our AI measures the slab area, reads the existing fall, checks for clearance and overhead obstructions, and prices the posts, beams, roof and footings in real time.
How carport quoting actually works
Camera on. Walk through. Talk through what you want. A licensed Australian tradie signs off in under an hour.
Carports are one of the cleanest jobs to quote with AI vision. The geometry is simple, the materials are standardised, and most of the cost variability lives in two things: the slab (do you have one already, or do we pour one) and the council pathway (does it need a development application). Our model handles both, and a licensed structural tradie signs off the loadings before the quote hits your inbox.
We've quoted single, double and tandem carports across every Australian climate zone, from wind region A urban Sydney to wind region C cyclonic coastal Queensland. Wind region matters: a Brisbane-spec carport uses lighter posts than a Townsville-spec one, and pretending otherwise is how cheap carports collapse in storms. Our quote always includes the wind region your address falls into and the engineering spec to match.
Roof options are usually Colorbond skillion, gable or flat, and we price all three so you can compare. If you want polycarbonate or shade-cloth instead of metal, talk to the AI during the walkthrough and we'll re-spec the materials list.
What our vision model scans for
Trained on more than 26,000 Australian residential jobs across every state and climate zone.
Driveway dimensions & fall
We measure usable driveway length and width, read existing slab fall, and check whether the slab is fit for purpose or needs replacing.
Overhead clearance
Tree limbs, eaves, powerlines — the AI flags any clearance issues during the walkthrough that would affect post height or roof pitch.
Existing post locations
If you're replacing a carport, we use the existing post positions as a reference. If you're building from scratch, the AI proposes a layout that respects your boundary setbacks.
Vehicle count & height
Tell us what you're parking. 'Two SUVs and a tinny on a trailer.' The AI sizes the carport, post height and clearance to suit.
Every carport quote, itemised.
Indicative line items. The AI scopes which apply to your specific job — and the licensed tradie signs off the final pricing.
Three common carport price brackets.

Carport quotes, answered.
Things homeowners ask before they book. If yours isn't here, the AI will answer during your walkthrough.
Do I need council approval for a carport?
It depends on size, height, boundary setbacks and your council. In NSW a carport under 25m² that meets all setback rules is usually 'exempt development' (no DA needed). In Queensland the cutoffs differ by council. Our quote includes a council compliance check based on your address — if a DA is needed, we factor the cost and timeline into the quote.
How long does a carport take to build?
Two to five days on site once materials arrive. The lead time depends on whether you need council approval (add 4–8 weeks for a DA), and material availability (steel is usually 1–2 weeks). A simple single carport on an existing slab can be done in a fortnight from quote acceptance.
Can I keep my existing slab?
Yes — if it's in good condition, the right thickness, and has correct fall. The AI will assess your existing slab during the walkthrough and the structural tradie will confirm during review. If the slab is cracked or under-spec, we'll quote replacement separately.
What's the difference between Colorbond and zincalume?
Colorbond is colour-coated steel sheeting with a 20+ year paint warranty. Zincalume is uncoated and silvery. Colorbond costs about 15% more but looks intentional and matches modern Australian homes. Zincalume is fine if you're going for a rural or shed aesthetic. We'll price both if you ask.
How do you handle cyclone-rated areas?
If your address is in wind region C or D (coastal Queensland north of about Bundaberg, much of the Top End), the structural spec changes — heavier posts, deeper footings, additional bracing. Our quote will automatically use the right region and include cyclone engineering certification. Expect a premium of 25–40% over a southern-state carport of the same size.
Can the carport be enclosed later as a garage?
Yes, and a lot of customers do this. If you tell the AI during the walkthrough that you want 'enclosure-ready', we'll spec the footings and beams for future wall and door loads at no extra cost — only the materials change later.
