Painting quotes, without the walk-through.
Walk the house — inside, outside, both. Our AI reads wall area, identifies surface condition (chalking, flaking, gloss vs matt), and prices the prep, undercoat and topcoats accurately. No painter wandering through your house with a clipboard.
How repaint quoting actually works
Camera on. Walk through. Talk through what you want. A licensed Australian tradie signs off in under an hour.
Painting is the most quote-shopped trade in Australia — a single house painter visit eats half a day for them, and most painters won't quote at all under $1,500. The result: homeowners get one or two paper quotes from local painters and pick the cheaper one. Quotefor.au gives you a third, instant, AI-and-tradie-signed opinion in 63 seconds with no painter visit at all.
Our vision model reads paintable area in real time — accounting for windows, doors, eaves and roof angles. We classify the substrate (weatherboard, brick, render, fibre cement, plaster) and the existing condition (sound, chalking, flaking, water-damaged). Each substrate-condition combination has a known prep cost per m², which is where 60% of paint job pricing variability lives.
Every quote includes a Dulux or Taubmans paint allowance at trade rate, two coats over an undercoat where required, and a 7-year workmanship warranty. Premium paints (washable kitchens, marine-grade exteriors) can be substituted on request for an additional per-litre cost.
What our vision model scans for
Trained on more than 26,000 Australian residential jobs across every state and climate zone.
Wall and ceiling area
The AI reads paintable area room by room, subtracting windows, doors and other non-paint surfaces. Within 4% of an in-person measure-up.
Surface condition
Chalking, flaking, cracking, water staining — the AI classifies each wall and quotes the appropriate prep level. Most painters under-quote prep; we always quote the right level.
Substrate type
Weatherboard, brick, render, fibre cement — each has different prep, primer and adhesion requirements. The AI identifies substrate from texture and pattern.
Colour scheme & finish level
'Whites and warm neutrals, low-sheen in bedrooms, semi-gloss on trim.' The AI files paint specifications against the right rooms.
Every repaint quote, itemised.
Indicative line items. The AI scopes which apply to your specific job — and the licensed tradie signs off the final pricing.

Things homeowners ask before they book. If yours isn't here, the AI will answer during your walkthrough.
How much does it cost to paint a 3-bedroom house in Australia?
Interior only (walls, ceilings, trim): $5,400–$9,800 depending on prep and existing colour. Exterior only (weatherboard or brick): $7,200–$14,000 depending on substrate, condition, and scaffold needs. Full inside-and-out repaint: $14,000–$22,000. Get a precise quote for your actual house in 63 seconds.
How long does painting take?
Single room: 1–2 days. Whole interior of a 3-bed: 5–8 days. Full exterior: 6–12 days depending on weather. Full house in-and-out: 3–4 weeks. We never paint exteriors below 10°C or above 32°C, and we don't paint exterior if the BOM forecast has rain within 24 hours.
Do you move furniture?
We move what we can to the centre of the room and cover it. Heavy items (pianos, antique cabinets, beds with anchored heads) need to be moved before we start, either by you or by an optional removal team we can quote for $480/day. Wardrobes and built-ins we paint in place.
What about lead paint?
Houses built before about 1970 may have lead paint on exterior or interior trim. If our AI sees evidence of old paint layers, we'll flag it for a $140 lead test. If positive, we quote a containment and removal process (an additional $1,200–$3,200) to comply with NSW WorkSafe / VIC WorkSafe / equivalent state rules.
Can you match my existing colour?
Yes — every quote includes a colour-match service. We can colour-match from a chip, a photo, or by sampling an existing painted surface during install day. Premium custom colours (more than 4 in one job) may have a small mixing cost.
What paint do you use?
Dulux Wash&Wear or Taubmans Endure are our defaults for interiors (washable, low-VOC). For exteriors, Dulux Weathershield X10 or Taubmans All Weather are our defaults — they include up to 25-year manufacturer warranties when applied to spec. Premium options (Porter's, Resene Sonyx) are available at a per-litre upcharge.
